MIS 7060 is a frequent prerequisite for the MIS concentration and should be taken during the first semester.
Students
who are assigned this prerequisite and feel that they have taken equivalent courses should provide a
proposal
to the departmental advisor which includes a completed request form,
transcripts,
and course descriptions to support their proposal. This
request
should be presented to the departmental advisor prior to or during the first semester of course work in order to
be considered. Academic credit must have been earned in a
programming course
and in a course that included file structures as a major component of the course. See the
departmental
advisor for additional details. Students may be assigned other
prerequisites as deemed useful for completing the degree program and then
progressing to a successful career in the information technology area.
MIS 7070 or equivalent course is a prerequisite for the MIS
concentration. This course is normally assigned to students who have
undergraduate degrees in content areas outside of the MIS field. If assigned
as a prerequisite, this course must be
taken during the first semester of enrollment with the exception of the
summer term.
MIS 7640 is a capstone course and should be taken during the last
semester prior to graduation.
Students who are assigned IEI as a prerequisite must enroll in the IEI
program during the first semester of enrollment.
Students may generally take courses required for the degree program at
the same time that prerequisites are being completed. However,
prerequisites should be completed during the first semester that the courses are
offered after being accepted into the MSBA degree program.
The departmental advisor does not have input into awarding of
assistantships.
Applications are available in the Graduate Programs Office, Room 101.
